Here's my entry for the Witcher contest, which I recognized only about a week ago. I didn't know the game before, but I really liked the story and the images of it. Anyway, it took a few days to get the right inspiration and I even worried if I could finish it in time, but now, after four days of work it's finished! I'm glad that I've made it (almost) in the last minute!
I've painted this one traditionally with acrylics on cardboard (about 54 cm x 43 cm). It took about 25 to 30 hours of painting plus several hours for scanning and a bit Photoshop work (just the colors and the "net-clothes" of Triss).
Edit: I weren't able to paint all the details I intended to put into this image because there wasn't enough time left to the end of the contest, so I finished it for myself and scanned it again. Here you can see the finished version (without computer help - Triss wears slightly less clothes here): [link]
Edit2: I just wondered about the submitting date - it says October 9 - is that PST? I looked at several PST clocks in the web when I submitted it and they said about 11:35 P.M. October 8th. Can anyone tell me?
Fantastic work! Especially considering you were not familiar with the game. There was a place remarkably similar to what you portrayed and the mood is perfect! Also it shows you did a pretty thorough research on everything.
