In fact, this isn´t really a digital painting, but I didn´t know where to upload it (it´s put together of different traditional paintings that I made, with very few digital painting - just the light effects on the back of the skull and chain)
This is my final version of my entry for the monthly german metal hammer cover-contest. They also liked my first version, but they told me to change the background (the oven - because they were afraid of that anyone could think of cremation of jews in the 3rd Reich while seeing this! Rediculous I think... but anyway, I like this version even more than the first - so it was good that they wanted me to change it) They´ve finally taken and published it! Acrylics on cardboard, put together of 6 single paintings in Photoshop (and colours also partly changed in Photoshop). |

und das Motiv ist schon eindeutig fantasy. aber man weiß ja nie was in den Köpfen von manchen Leuten vorgeht... ich kann die Angst von den Leuten vom Metal Hammer ja schon ein bisschen verstehen

Noch mal zur Angst der Redaktion: erst mal denke ich, dass kaum jemand diese Assoziation gehabt hätte, und selbst wenn: ist es verboten, schlimme Dinge darzustellen? Es wäre ja keine Verherrlichung oder Ähnliches.
Ich finde es sehr auffällig (und absurd) dass man fast jede Form von Grausamkeiten zeigen darf, aber sobald irgendetwas auch nur im Entferntesten ans dritte Reich erinnert, gehen einige gleich auf die Barrikaden (und meist sind das nicht mal Betroffene, sondern Weicheier, die einfach aus Angst vor eventuell möglichen Konflikten lieber von vornherein auf das Recht auf freie Meinungsäußerung in manchen Bereichen verzichten).
So, das war meine Meinung dazu, aber egal, vielen Dank noch mal!
