Is the head supposed to look like a Colosseum?

Nice painting, Markus!  It looks like the kindest thought is winning in the Colosseum of your mind.  It is very interesting to see how your paintings and your photographs interact.

Thanks a lot, Paul! Well, globes/spheres have been a subject of my paintings for many years.
This one was a really exhausting experience, because I wanted to do a new painting for the exhibition (which started on Saturday) but didn't find the time to start with it before I had only 5 days to paint it. I finished it on Thursday night, slept about three and a half hours and then drove more than 11 hours to the exhibition by car (fortunately together with my girlfriend, so I didn't have to drive all the time). But now I'm extremely glad that I've painted it! And the exhibition is full of amazing paintings by many great artists!

It's all the more impressive now that I know the back story, I would not have guessed this was rushed.

Thanks a lot! Well, I'm also surprised how good it turned out, but sometimes a little pressure is good for my work, it seems. I was really focused those days. But I still prefer having more time to finish a painting.

It's like Escher and Dali had a love child...and you are that child, my dear artist. Very well done! Beautiful mix of thought provoking and down right creepy.

We truly do have complete worlds in our heads. How else could we come up with such incredible stories, like ATLA, the Matrix, and Resident Evil? The worlds in our minds are limitless, just waiting to come to fruition...
