This is my contribution to visualize H. P. Lovecraftīs work. I allways wanted to paint the great Cthulhu, now itīs done! (but not as a comission - just for my pleasure)
I didnīt want to show too much of him, because in Lovecrafts stories there are allways many things that he left to the readers imagination - so I wanted to do the same with this picture, and I wanted to capture a remindable scene from the story "call of cthulhu".
painted in two days with brushes and acrylics on canvas, ca. 40 cm x 58 cm

the "soul" is pure potential, like open space or silence with weight to it. the soul is open and ready to recieve.
fill me, heavy silence.
fill me, loud sound.
fill me, black void.
Beauutiful. You really have a talent for capturing lighting effects wonderfully. When I get more into acrylics from the watercolour I do now, I hope to learn how to do pieces as effective as yours.
As a side note, did you manage to catch Pirates of the Carribean 2? There was a definite Cthulhu factor in that fishy sea captain.
Wonderful stuff to look at, mate. Keep up the great work.
