hey man, i am also a surreal painter and after seeing some of your alien landscapes i was was inspired to continue in surrealism and i even have made one since then resembling an alien landscape. i love the realism in your works, and i really struggle to achieve it but i feel i may have to wait until i can go back to school to be able to learn the best way to do that. i am self-taught. i will surely add to watch list, and look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Hey, thanks a lot! I'm also self-taught and of course it took many years of practice to become that good (I started with acrylics more than 18 years ago and I think I can still improve my skills). But painting in a more or less realistic way is always much work - an acrylic painting usually takes between 20 to 40 hours to finish, some of my paintings even took more than 60 hours. Good luck on achieving what you wish for!

This is a very random question but...

Do you have anything against Obscura, Colored Sands, and Pleiadies Dust from Gorguts?
I saw that you mentioned you listened to "Old" Gorguts as an inspiration for one of your paintings  which is fantastic since Erosion of Sanity is one of my favorite ODSM albums, but their four albums since then are far more unearthly and surreal to me than pretty much 90% of the metal out there.

Hehe, of course "newer" Gorguts are technically superior and quite interesting, but they never reached me in the way the old stuff does (espcecially "Considered Dead" and the "...And Then Comes Lividity" demo). Nevertheless I have all releases of them ("Obscura" only as the demo versions in the "...And Then Comes Lividity" vinyl compilation - I actually prefer that version to the finished album), but I don't listen that often to their stuff of the last 20 years.

Ah, I see

Funny thing is, while it's true that Obscura and Colored Sands are more technical (Pleiadies Dust is much more about triotic improve' structure and atmosphere), that's almost never why I listen them. I'm more interested in the melodic/harmonic dissonace utilized, and the sheer intricacy and complexity of the sound.

While that's important to consider, whether it reaches either of us is totally subjective. Thank you for replying, by the way.
